Copycat Chick-Fil-A Sandwich with Jalapeno Honey

I promise to not be the person that shares 5 paragraphs of intro before the actual recipe. Diving right in.

Have you ever heard of Red Bag Chicken? I came across this lucky find while looking at the Aldi weekly ad. These precooked, frozen, fried chicken patties are $5 for a bag and have 6 filets. If you look up “red bag chicken” you will find claims that this tastes like a Chick-fil-a chicken sandwich. Had to find out. While at Aldi, I also saw a chip flavor “sweet heat, honey jalapeno”. Didn’t buy the chips, but intrigued by the thought of the flavor combination. And so, this was born.

Ingredients, serves 2:
2 frozen filet from “Red Bag Chicken”
1/4 cup honey
1 Tablespoon chopped pickled jalapenos
2 Teaspoon juice from pickled jalapenos
1/2 Avocado, sliced
2 slices tomato
2 fancy buns (I used brioche buns from Publix)
Mayo

Directions:
1) Preheat air fryer to 400
2) Place chicken filets in air fryer basket for 18 minutes, turning over after 10
3) Meanwhile, mix together honey, jalapenos, and jalapeno juice
4) Toast buns
5) Assemble – bottom up – bun, mayo, tomato, chicken, avocado slices, drizzle with jalapeno honey.

Enjoy!
