Intro

My husband (who isn’t the social sort and shall be referred to as husband) and I have been living aboard full time for nearly 6 years. What started as a hobby, then a dream, turned into a plan. We bought our first sailboat, a Columbia 8.7, to see if we could cut it living aboard without sacrificing our marriage or our sanity. After just a couple of months I was sold and knew that this lifestlye was right for us. We stayed on the Columbia for a year and a half in VERY tight quarters. We agreed that we loved the lifestyle, but needed more room (we have a 60+ lb Australian Shephard named Django and my stepson was with us part time). So we found our second boat – an early 60s Chris Craft. At 48 ft she offered a lot more comfort and room. Her name was St. Mary and we called her home for 4 1/2 years. Which is where the big dream began to grow.
